Ah, I remember so well...

Don't ever believe that you can't find the man of your dreams in a bar...b/c that's where Big Dave and I had our first official hook up! Ha! I was 18 and he was 23...man those days were so much fun! We initially met in our pal's back yard at a 'pig pickin'  (Alan Matthews house) and after a brief run in, we ended up meeting again at Congress Street Station downtown.  My girlfriends and I thought he was BAD (and not in a good way) yep, he was a naughty boy...sigh...but doggonit, he could dance better than anyone I'd ever seen in real life! (I know those of you who've met him think I'm probably hallucinating, but it's TRUE!) People would literally clear the dance floor for him and this one other guy, and they'd put on quite a show...I remember hearing the crowd chant "Danford, Danford, Danford!" SOooOO cool! After a while I started looking forward to going downtown and meeting up with the guy in the red U of A hat...he had me hook line and sinker...Lucky for me, I had his line too! :)

So, whenever I hear songs from waaaaay back in the day, I take a minute to reminisce about them...so the other day while sweating my buns off on the treadmill, I heart a song by C&C Music Factory, this song took me back 16 years to downtown Savannah, bumpin' and grindin' (eek!) with my sexy boyfriend...when I got off the treadmill I dug through my old photos and found these pics...PERFECT! They're from very early in our relationship...cool! (Check out my pink fingernails...ooh la laa!)

Here's the layout...The Love, Elsie papers were perfect for the page...I threw on some blingy brads from Making Memories, letters by American Crafts, a jumbo photo corner by Heidi Swapp, and I finally used that Hambly chandlier rub-on...thanks for looking!

The girl's weekend crop album is FINISHED!! Here ya go...

So there it is...15 pages (11x8.5) of our weekend with Jill and Deiha at Santee. The album took less than 8 hours to complete b/c I kept stuff simple...and it was pretty inexpensive b/c I dug deep in my stash for embellishments and used patterned paper to add personality to the pages.  As always, I tried to let my photos be the stars of the pages...and my journaling.  I think the layouts definitely show how much fun we had right? :)  Thanks for lookin'!  ~~~J

In my blog stalking I found that Robyn Weatherspoon (a designer for Moxxie) has some FABULOUS layouts using the new Moxxie products. We have these products IN STOCK just ripe for the pickin'! :)So, I asked Robyn if I could post these for you to see...enjoy!

Wanted: A little support...

Today is a sad day...yes...it's true...as I sit here on my computer, it is happening... the underwire in my very favorite most wonderful bra is poking me!  Waaaaaaaaaa!  (hee hee.)  Like I said, it's my fave... Body by Victoria from Victoria's Secret.  So, I decided to Google it, and lo and behold there are tons of them for sale on EBAY! Hmmmm, it gets me thinkin'...do I really want to buy a bra off of EBAY?  What if some big hairy guy from Wisconsin or somewhere's been wearing it????  EEEEEK! :) What would YOU do? Or better yet, does someone have a bra they love other than the $40 ones from VS?  I'd love some recommendations if you wanna share (no photos please! haa!)

Hey Angelia, if you're lurking...looky what I found today!  Our pal Trish loved one of Angelia's published layouts sooooo much that she scraplifted it for a page about her napping baby.  Cool!  She still has to put her journaling stips on it, but you can tell the jist of it.  I love how Trish took the design from Angelia's water/swimming layout and turned it into a completely different layout theme. Yeah Trish! :)

Go Amber, get your groove on woman!  Here's the brand spankin' new "Amber" line of papers, ribbon, and 3d stickers from Adornit...designed by...you guessed it...our pressssssssshhussssh Amber Winward! It's REALLY pretty...She also designed an entire album kit that we received as well. I love layouts that say who we are...

Don't you?  I love that our pal Deiha T. used the page I did (The hardest job ever) about being a stay at home mom, as a springboard for her own layout about motherhood. I'm so glad she let me share it with you...here it is: (Thanks Deiha!)

    I knew the job of being a mom was always something

that interested me. When Marc and I decided to start

our family I wasn’t sure how we would balance both

raising children and working. I was working two jobs,

one teaching preschool and the other waiting tables.

I taught because I loved working with children.

I waited tables to pay the bills. After having Contessa

I had to give up teaching because the school frowned on

teachers having their children enrolled in the center.

After only 2 months of taking Contessa to another stay

at home mom who was watching other children in her home,

we decided it wasn’t right for us. I would stay home

during the day and work evenings and weekends and Marc

would stay with Contessa while I worked.

     When Contessa was 1 ½ we decided to move to South

Carolina. The cost of living was much higher and we knew

I would have to work. I found a school where I could take

Contessa with me. At age three she was in my classroom.

How great was this! I was able to do the job I love AND

still play an active part in my daughter’s life and

education. Sure it was challenging at times, you are

always harder on your own child and you cringe when they

act out in front of the other kids. You know the other

children go home and say “Ms Deiha’s girl did this…”

     I would not have given up this opportunity for the

world. With the birth of Winston, we did the same. He was

enrolled in my class. I could watch him grow; make great

friendships for both him and myself. We are still close

friends with many of the families we met at Island

Lutheran PreSchool. I wondered how it would be when both

of my children were in public school. Would I still have

the passion to plan only the best for my children when

my children were not there?

     Contessa is now twelve and Winston is eight. I still

love teaching preschool. I work in a part time program

where I am finished before they get out of school. We are

home by 4pm each day and are still able to spend quality

time together. I am able to volunteer in the children’s

classrooms and be there for very performance. I have my

summers off so we can travel together and just hang out

by the pool.

    I would say this would have to be the best of both

worlds; I can have a career that I love and still play an

active part in my children’s lives.

So what's the use in having a blog if I can't toot my own horn every once in a while right?  So, you know how I have that multi-photo blog link in the left column over there?  The one called "Tenika's blog"...well, she saw my Trashbuggy layout on twopeasinabucket.com and contacted me to see if I'd let her post it on her blog!! Like I said...yippee for me!  So of course I said YES! It's fun to actually have someone see your work and think it's cool enough to put on their blog right?
