Saying goodbye...

Yep, we're saying a fond farewell to a bunch of Disney/Cartoon products...Michelle's loading up our CLEARANCE section as I type this post! There's SOOOO much NEW stuff that we're having to make room on our Disney wall.  So, our loss is YOUR gain right? 40% sounds pretty nice eh?  Bye Bye Incredibles, Bugs Life, Hello Kitty, Barbie, Diego, Nemo, vintage Pooh and Mickey...sigh, you'll be missed! (But only until we get our greedy mitts on those brand new Disney products right? )har har!

We've also clearanced a TON of patterned papers to make room for these:

Um....yeah...anyone? It's approximately the size of my hand, and it was hanging out in the Wachovia drive thru last week.  Anyone hear of a jurassic park missing a teradactyl?

I've lived here all my life (not in the Wachovia drive thru, but here...in Savannah) and I've NEVER seen one of these...these...um...creatures.  Eek!!!!

Maybe it's been living in here...

Eh?  Maybe I'm on to something huh? Will somebody please come over and beat my kid into cleaning her room?  I cannot imagine where she gets it from!

Crop, crop crop...crop 'til ya drop~

For those of you who've seen High School Musical (the first one) like two hundred and twelve times, the title to this post is set to the tune of bop bop bop, bop to the top (or what the heckever those teenie boppers say...)            Sorry, I think I'm still loopy from yesterday's fifteen hours of nonstop cropping action...ok, well I didn't crop for the full 15, but the rest of the ladies burned it up didn't y'all? 

I totally meant to take pics of some of the layouts that caught my eye, but I was a tiny bit distracted by a seething toothache courtesy of a lovely sinus infection, and the fact that Big Dave didn't get home until 6:30 AM from the bachelor party that morning.  (Not that I was angry, just totally sleepy b/c they called and woke me up giggling and rambling at 6 o' stinkin' clock!...ugh, drunk dialing should be outlawed!)   Lucky for him, he did manage to get up and cook us all lasagna for lunch, or he'd have been in the dawghouse for sure hee hee! I know, you're jealous right? We got a catered lunch from "House of Redneck" and you didn't!

So, anyway...we're already FULL for next month's Super Saturday Crop on the 29th...so Here are the dates for the next ones:

Saturday December 29th

As  you can see, we're trying to keep it on the last Saturday of each month.  I know it'll get a little wierd with the holidays being so close to some of them, but it might be kinda nice to escape and come hang out right? Right? RIGHT?

The crops cost $10 and I feed you lunch...you're on your own for dinner...you get 10% off of your purchases, and you'll be eligible for our door prizes.  Plus, you get a whole day of listening to me ramble about silly stupid stuff! :)  Yesterday our croppers were treated to my stand up routine about people with gas on airplanes (ie, the sausage farts...hee hee, that still cracks me up!)

My colorful friend

Wow...I'm so proud of my pal Sid! She rocked the house downtown at the S.P.A.C.E Gallery in her "Color My Quilt" lecture this evening.  I'm not a quilter, but I definitely learned some useful info about using color, neutrals, and patterns that can be used in my scrapping.  She's SO funny too! There was this one part where she was talking about a different way to use color...instead of the color wheel, use the rainbow for a guide...so she says "let's look at the order of the rainbow...ha, order of the rainbow...I think I hear unicorns coming..."  Bwah! Ok, so maybe some of it got lost in translation, but damnit she's funny!

So I'm thinkin' that we need to beg and plead Sid to come teach a class at the store,  ya know?  Hmmm, who wants a class on color and combing patterned papers?  Sounds good huh?

(Here's me and my date...she's a hottie huh?) We went and ate din din at Bella's (yummy tortellini!) And now, while Big Dave's out at Teddy's bachelor party, I'm gonna curl up in bed and read more of this Janet Evanovich book that I'm addicted to. (Yep, I'm starting the Stephanie Plum series and I CANNOT put it down!) Nighty night!

I altered something!

Okay, for those of you who don't know me (and for those of you who do know me, but haven't figured me out yet)...I have a really nasty confession to make...are you ready?

I'm just not that in to 'paper crafting'... (group gasp...egads!)  Yep, sad but true...I'm a 100% scrapbooking die hard, but all this other crafting stuff like altering things, making handmade cards, and other creative paper outlets totally escapes me! I'm just not worthy! I look at the creations my customers have made and I'm completely impressed.  Apparently not all paper 'artists' are created equal.  So, I'm pretty much a big ol' baby about it...can't do it, don't wanna do it, nanny nanny boo boo.  :)

But tonight, I did it...yes, it's a small feat...something for my darling daughter to torment her conservative Christian teacher with.  Her graph paper notebook....ta da!

So there you have it...one notebook, two sheets of fabulous Creative Imaginations skull paper and some spray adhesive...look at me go. Yeah, well I tried right? :)

How precious is this little girl? Awwwwwww!  Thanks to Joy P. for sharing her beautiful mess with us.  Isn't her journaling so descriptive? Love it!

There's a storm brewing...*updated 8/26*

And I need your help...I've got a very close friend who's going through some scary scary stuff...the doc found a lump in her breast and the mammogram/ultrasound today didn't hold a whole lot of good news.

I need you to take a minute, right now, and pray for my friend...please pray for this to be nothing...pray for her to have peace with whatever the future brings, and pray that if there is something that needs healing, that her doctor knows exactly what to do to kick this thing in the butt ok?

It looks like they're gonna biopsy it next week (after Labor Day) so please please PLEASE keep praying for her...this not knowing stuff is about to make us nuts!

Sorry to be a downer, but I totally believe in the power of prayer...I believe that we all go through the yuckies of life, and sometimes God calms the storm, and other times He calms us while we go through the storm...I'm just hoping that it's God's will that this storm blows over without any harm, ya know?

Okay, okay...so I've ALWAYS loved the cool stuff from Technique Tuesday...fabulous acrylic stamps being their specialty, but I've never carried any of their stuff b/c it's been so pricey...until NOW! Lynn forced me into their booth back at CHA and tempted my good sense with their yummy chipboard shapes and delicious acrylic stamps...so, what can I say? I'm weak! I couldn't help it...she held a gun to my head? I bought it...I did it...but only the affordable stuff.  I didn't load up on the $30.00 alphabets, only the nicely priced chipboard and some easy on the wallet smaller stamp sets.  REALLY nice stuff...Come and get it!
