Born to ride!

As promised, I've kept up with my daily walking/biking routine for FOUR weeks (officially tomorrow) so guess what I got???

A NEW BIKE!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!! 

Since our wedding anniversary is coming up the first week of May, I asked Big Dave for a bright shiny new two-wheeler, and since he's pretty much sick to death of my complaining about the crapfest I've been riding, he took me bike shopping today.  And tada!!!

My new precious has gears (unlike the Bicycle of Doom)

and it has a nice cushy seat (unlike Wobbles)

and no rust, no clods of mud, no crooked back tire, and no drama. This here's the perfect bike for me!

Dude...no wonder!

I think I've mentioned before that I'm doing the Weight Watchers thing right? Well, to be honest I fell off the WW bandwagon and couple months ago thinking why pay the money if I can continue to do it myself. So now here I am working my bootay off walking, jogging, biking, and Wii'ing and getting crappy results.  So, I finally said okay dang it, I'm gonna bite the bullet and pay the $16.95 a month to get back on my Weight Watchers on line service. 

And man, am I glad I did it!  I'm a total dumb ass for ever thinking I could do it without my handy points tracker.  Since Tuesday (the first day of my WW) of this week, I've lost FOUR pounds, oh heck yeah!! Now I'm in business!

This made me started wondering why I was having such trouble losing pounds when I started the physical activity, ya know? So I decided to enter some of the foods that I thought were okay into the Weight Watchers points calculator, and was SHOCKED to see how many points I'd been eating while thinking I wasn't being that bad.

For example...this ONE stupid little piece of frozen Dijourno (sp?) supreme pizza is EIGHT points...wha???!!!!??  Seriously??  I only get 20 points for a whole day and one little piece of pizza ain't gonna fill me up I promise.

Yet this whole meal...a big ol' salad (no cheese) with nonfat Italian dressing and a big serving of my favorite pasta bake (with zucchini and sausage) is only 4.5 points.

I couldn't even finish all my pasta because I was SOOO full! Doesn't it look yummy and delish?? (The steam from the pasta fogged up my camera so it's kinda blurry.)

So after last night's epiphany, I'm like well duh...no wonder I was weighing in at over 150 pounds! Geez, it's amazing how many naughty things can go into food.  It's ridiculous, and I'm a sucker...ugh!  In fact, I thought I was being a good girl yesterday by getting a chargrilled chicken Cool Wrap from Chick fil a right? Oh heck no, I got home and put it into my Weight Watchers point tracker...8 freakin' points. Thank the Lord I only ate half or I'd have been ticked!

Gee, I feel so enlightened  ;)

Lake love...

Okay, I admit it...I'm a water person.  The presence of a body of water (the ocean, a creek, a lake, heck even a swimming pool) fills me with peace.  I love it. Can't ever imagine living more than a short drive to the ocean...just can't do it.  So as you can imagine, I love love love the park here by my house.  It's not really a full fledged park yet, like it doesn't have a pavillion or playground or anything, but it does have a lake...a body of water, and what happens when I'm around a body of water? (no I don't have to pee) I feel at peace, remember? 

So this afternoon we headed over to the park to let the girls run around and feed the fishies, and just hang out and enjoy the afternoon.  It was wonderful.  I've been doing a lot of walking around the lake for my workouts, so it was nice to go and just chill with my man while the girls goofed off.

And here are the wee lassies feeding goldfish crackers to the fish, which I've got to be honest, raises some serious ethical and moral questions in my book...

See the ducks over there? They heard that bag rustle and they hightailed it over for a snack...

There are only three ducks in the whole lake, so they've pretty much got a monopoly on all crackers. This morning when we were at the lake walking THREE miles, Kristine and I saw two of the ducks doing 'the dance of love' no details, I'll leave it up to your imagination.  ;)

Phew, all this family time's made me tired, I think I'll go join Big Dave for a nap, and then possibly I'll scrap a little later. Yeah, that sounds perfect!

It's softball season! (again)

Just when you thought it was safe to climb on the bleachers, just when you thought the gnats may not suck every pint of your lifeblood, just when you thought you'd never have to hear the words..."Mommmm, I hot..." again, comes...

Miss Priss has played ball for three  years on the same team for the same coach at the YMCA, so we know lots of the girls, which is nice.  However, this year got spiced up a bit with the absence of Katie.  Yes, it seems Miss Priss's one time BFF has wained in the eyes of favor around here...in other words, Elizabeth hasn't been wanting to hang out with her lately. Don't ask me, I don't profess to know the inner workings of the ten year old friend clique.  So Katie's out, and four other SCPS girls are in and they're all on the same team, which is REALLY cool!

This year's team name is the "Raptors" which E hates, but whatever...and they're sporting the Atlanta Braves colors and logo...neato eh? Okay, well, neato if you're a Braves fan like the Danfords, but not so great if you're a SOX fan, right Patrick???  Ha!

So here are the obligatory first game photos, which I might add, pretty much suck.  I was in a bad spot, so I didn't get any good ones of Miss Priss hitting,(she only batted once and went down swinging) and only one of her in the outfield....woo.  I'm putting a pic of her BFF Erin on here for her folks, so she's the one at bat...Okay, here they are...

That's what I've got for ya.  At this exact moment, 8:08pm on Friday night, I have NOTHING interesting to share.  Not a layout, not a funny picture of me in my bra, nuthin'.  Geez, life is just kind of boring right now...hum drum...la de frickin' doo da.

I'm trying to get my final assignments completed for my EDUC6000 class and I'm studying for my GEO1100 exam.  When I'm not doing school work, I'm working my buns off (walking 2.5 miles and then biking another 3! Can you believe it?????) or I'm trying to be a good housewife and clean bathrooms, kitchens and stuff (which I pretty much suck at) or I'm reading one of three books (Faith Factor, Itty Bitty Lies, and The Five People You Meet in Heaven) or I'm watching reality t.v like Big Brother, American Idol, Survivor, Dancing w/ the Stars, and the finale of Rock of Love II. 

Like I said, p-r-e-t-t-y dull.  But there  ya have it!  Hope to scrap a little this weekend, I'll share what I come up with.  ;)

What are big sisters for???

In my case, big sisters are for providing 'support' to their bouncy-boobed little sisters! haaaaa! 

Apparently after reading my blog post about kickball, my big sister Lori must have grown concerned and decided action was needed.  So sent me a special present today.

SPORTS BRAS!!!!!! WOooHOOOOooOO!!!

How funny is she?  I tell ya, we may be different in some ways, but dangit we've got the exact same sense of humor.  So now I'm the proud owner of three racerback sports bras...does that make me a jock? (I've never owned a sports bra before, so I'm just checking.)

Yes indeed all is well in my world! (I hope this isn't classified as porn since you're seeing me in my lingerie..har hardy har har.) I've been thinking we should be more intimate with each other, don't you agree?  ;)

Thanks sissy poo poo..I'm absolutely positive that having my boobies safely snuggled down in my new bra will vastly improve my kickball abilities! 

Two pager inspiration...

Most of you know that my bff Kristine has approximately a hundred and twenty two kids right?  Okay, this may be a slight exaggeration, but seriously, compared to my one girl, her herd of boys (8, if you count the two she birthed, 2 stepsons, 3 former, but still very much like stepsons, and Teddy) seems like a hundred and twenty two. 

Needless to say, she's got a TON of photos to scrap, you should see them all! She's got those extra long photo boxes stacked as tall as I am with film photos, and now that she's gone digital I can't even begin to guess how many she has stashed on her 'puter, her external hard drive thingy, and a multitude of SD cards. So of course, she rarely has time for these froofy little one pagers like I do...instead, my dear bff must find creative ways to consistently stuff as many photos onto double page layouts, as often as possible.

And she's REALLY good at it! Normally she takes her layouts back home with her after we scrap, but I managed to get my hands on a few from this past weekend.

Occasionally, to get her girly scrapbooking fix, she does layouts about herself...hey, when you've got a craving to use pink and purple, you've gotta use pink and purple!

I think this one's too cute! And I'm guessing that big blank spot is where she's SUPPOSED to put her journaling, right Kristine??? (Anybody suddenly craving popcorn?)

Aren't these great? I think so, but then again, I happen to be biased because I luv her soooo much.  ;)  Two page layouts intimidate the crap out of me; I hate them! So to see her come up with original, creative layouts time and time again is amazing to me.  Whatta girl, whatta girl!

Hey, I almost forgot...

Kristine and I scrapped all weekend, and I wanted to share the layouts I did. I only got two of my own layouts completed because I was working on an 80th birthday album for a client, but hey, two's better than nuthin' right?

So here's the first one...A typical Valentine layout...

I love how this came together (thanks to my trusty "Idea Notebook") and yes, believe it or not, the patterned papers came out of a pack I bought at the dollar spot at Target...cool!

Since Miss Priss named her giant pink dog Cupcake, I created a little paper- pieced cupcake for kicks and giggles...and guess what I used to make the little cupcake cup???? A paper crimper! Oh yeah, talk about some retro scrappin'! Here's the proof...

And then we have Big Dave's 40th bday layout...

I love everything about this. ..Love the stamped 40 (acrylic paint and Making Memories foam stamps) and I love the brackets that I cut out of chipboard and painted, and I love the word 'forty' on the little squares with the brads. This was fun to put together! 

And of course Trixie helped out a whole lot...
