Today we made some memories...me and the kiddo that is. It's days like today that remind me how blessed I am...God rocks my socks off! Since Miss Priss only has two weeks of school left, we decided to invite some of her pals over for an end o' the year slumber party. Big Dave's out of town, so I decided to really make it fun and take all the girlies down to our condo at the beach. It was just as much of a treat for me as it was for the kids. I sat poolside and finished reading "Little Bitty Lies" by Mary Kay Andrews (not that great if you want my opinion) and had a wonderful time relaxing in the evening breeze.
Ah, talk about a perfect evening...the breeze was blowing, the temperature was in the 80's and we had the whole pool to ourselves. The girls loved it! We ordered pizza from our favorite spot on Tybee and ate poolside...
After the sun started going down we headed out to the beach for some shell hunting...
and seagull torturing...(this is my favorite pic)
and the obligatory sappy mom/photographer sunset photos...
When did my baby girl get so grown?
Yep, that would be MY kid in the skimpy bikini...what can I say? It's Old Navy's fault...yes, let's blame it on Old Navy.
Am I allowed to be jealous of the waistline of a ten year old?
We had such a beautiful time down there this evening...this is a GREAT bunch of friends.
So as we were driving back from Tybee tonight, and the girls were singing a Taylor Swift song in unison at the top of their lungs, and we were about to stop at Arby's for four medium curly fries and four small chocolate milkshakes, I had a moment of clarity...a sense of pure appreciation for this exact moment...this beautiful time we were blessed with. This really is the good stuff, and I am grateful.
Okay, enough mushy stuff...Now I'm gonna try to go to bed and use a humidifier to drown out the singing contest going on in the living room...wish me luck. The girls have vowed to stay up all night long...yikes!
Girl your baby is now a young lady!!Great pictures and looks like yall had fun!
Cole has 2 weeks of school left too! We can't wait!
