Icky sticky grody toadies!

See this layout I did six years ago?

I did it because we were totally under siege by little tree frogs...they were everywhere around our house!  Eeewwwwww....I CANNOT deal with creepy little toadie frogs...ick! I couldn't even check my mail b/c they would hang out under the box and jump on me when I stuck my hand in.  I shudder at the thought...

Well, after that year of amphibious frenzy, they kinda disappeared...I mean we'd see one every once in a while, but nothing like that first summer.  So, I've pretty much forgotten the horror of it all...until now...

THEY'RE BACK.

Oh deal Lord help me!

Big Dave counted twelve of the little suckers on our shutters last night.  You see, I go out in the evenings to water my flower bed out front, and now they've caught on to my routine, so they lurk in the cracks of our shutters waiting for me to turn on the hose. YICK! Then they stare at me, hoping that I'll wave the water in their direction so they can get a drink.  I may need therapy. 

As the kickball turns...

Yes it's time for another installment of "listen to Jamie whine about kickball."  ;)  Truly, from the bottom of my heart, let me tell you what a beastly sport this is...oh! And then Big Dave informed us last night that we're gonna have to keep playing until mid July to make up for some games that were postponed...OMG!!

And sure, I may look like I'm enjoying myself as I scamper about ponytail flopping in the breeze...

and even posing a bit for the camera just before I forget how to run the bases and get out b/c I leave first base on a pop up...duh...

But sadly, I have decided that I will retire my kickball jersey after this season (if it EVER ends.) However, I will say this... kickball does have its perks, like tailgate cookouts after the game...

Awww how cute...look at Big Dave and Bubba snuggling up back there...so precious.  Here's the rest of our fearless teammates, although they don't play along nicely for photos.  No posers here. 

And although I have no photos to prove it, my bff, the mighty and fabulous Teeny played what I would say is her all time best game last night. Her thigh muscle thingy has finally healed, and you should've seen her prancing around those bases! Ah, what a beautiful sight to behold.  ;)

She did it!

I can't believe it...my kiddo, my wee little Priss was the starting pitcher at yesterday's softball game! No, I wasn't COMPLETELY consumed by butterflies...noooOOooooo...not at all.  (blatant lie.)  She only pitched the first inning b/c she was so nervous, but she managed to get her first strike out...talk about one PROUD Daddy...I thought he was gonna pop!  :)  So of course I'm gonna have to post some photos of our little pitcher girl, and I'll even include the terribly grainy video of the event so Meme, Nana, and various Aunts, Uncles and Cousins can see her in action. 

Nice form...just like her Daddy taught her.

Unfortunately for E, this was the last game of the season...thank goodness, because I was a nervous wreck! 

Twelve..what a lovely number...

This week's weigh in is brought to you by the number TWELVE.  Yep, I am officially TWELVE pounds lighter than I was when I first started Weight Watchers in April!  Shocking! 

My scale said 138 this morning. Unbelievable!  I guess all this hard work (biking 8-10 miles a day) is paying off eh?  So, one more pound to go and it's bikini time! Weight Watchers ROCKS! 

  And even though I'm a tad bit grumpy this morning because the roofers across the street woke me up at dawn's ass crack,  I think I'll go celebrate with a hundred calorie breakfast snack.  ;)

Hmmmm...pretty....

As most of you know, my Mommy is some kinda world traveler these days. Which means that as the scrapbooker in the family, I feel compelled to keep her travel albums up to date.  So, what do you think I did when I walked into ASB today and found this delicious assortment of new travel embellies and papers from Making Memories?

Yep...HAD to have it!  And it worked out perfectly b/c I was down to the last pages of Mom's England adventure so I slapped 'em together and slipped all of the layouts into this lovely three ring binder...

Thank goodness it's done...two European vacations in one album. Phew! Now I just have to do her latest Caribbean trip, and get ready for her cruise to Finland/Russia/Estonia.  I'm tellin' ya, this stuff came out just in time! :)

By the way, Sid and I had a LOVELY time scrapping at the ASB today, and we'll be back doing more free table time on Tuesday, June 17th around 10:30am until 2 ish if you wanna come play. Let me know and I'll save ya a seat!

Boys in cages...

After many MANY moons of having to stay home with the kiddo I finally got to go to one of Big Dave's softball games.  (Usually they last too long for me to take the Priss.) However, she was spending the night out and school's out, so I went.  There's just something about boys in cages that gets me goin...

Well, maybe not everything about it is appealing...

Boys with nice arms also make me purr a little too...

And let's not forget the beauty of a nice fitting pair of baseball pants...sigh...

Journaling Junkie

Chatter...

Since I took up most of the past few days on here with my online sale (which, by the way worked out marvelously and helped clean out MUCH of the stuff I had in boxes thank goodness, yet I still have at least one of each pack left if you still want some) and since there's some sort of kink over at google right now and it won't let me do my normal blog stalking

I guess I'll throw out some randomness here...

Hmmm, well...I'm pretty sunburned...yes that makes me a dumbass, I know.  Totally forgot the sunscreen for E's softball game Saturday and now Big Dave and I are literal REDnecks, not just the stereotype.  Ouch. 

We won our kickball game last night...the other team didn't show up, ha! So the guys (who actually enjoy playing) teamed up with some other guys and played, while we girls sat on the bleachers and talked about vaginas and stuff. Now that's my kinda game.

Speaking of hangin' with the girlies, let me tell you..my pal Sid and I went up to A Scrapbook Boutique this past Thursday and took advantage of their free table time. Ah, so nice to get out of the house and spread out on someone elses table.  We're gonna do it again this Thursday too, in case you wanna come play with us. I'll be there around 11:00 and will probably stay until at least 2:00 if not later. 

While we were up at ASB, Linda told us that she's already had a shoplifter in there.  Can you believe that crap????  She's got security in there and has a REALLY good description of the lady who stuffed the merchandise down her pants and the car she was driving.   Sadly, this person fits the description of someone who I thought might have stolen from my store as well.  Ugh, it's so frustrating to know people are capable of this stuff! I guess I just just assume that we're all in it together, ya know? Scrapbookers are friends and we're bonded together through the hobby we love.  But I guess some people don't want to be friends...they just want to look out for themselves and throw everyone else under da bus.  Sigh...

On a lighter note...Miss Priss got a new bed this weekend. We decided to overhaul her bedroom and get rid of the two twin beds. So now she's sportin' a double bed and this new (quite fabulous) quilt set. 

As you can see, she's quite pleased with it.  After we got her bed set up (btw, that's my old headboard from when I was her age, ha!) we purged both of her closets and threw away three 50 gallon Hefty bags full of crap.  WOW! We've still got to conquer her clothing situation and throw out/give away the stuff she can't wear, so maybe we'll do that today. That is, after we go swimsuit shopping again...this time we're hunting for a one piece for the Priss, because she starts swimteam tonight.  Should be interesting.

Okay, I think I'm done for now...I've still got some other fun stuff to post, but I'll do that tomorrow, breakfast is calling and maybe google's working again.  Have a great day!  :)

Journaling Junkie Challenge

Last week's challenge over at www.JournalingJunkie.blogspot.com was to document the friend we've had the longest.  So, of course I had to do a layout about my uber awesome best friend Mommy! And since I'd just picked up this fresh new Bobunny stuff from ASB I decided to use to my advantage for a quick and easy layout.

I mounted the flat stickers onto chipboard and sanded 'em down a bit, cut the pink circle with my Curvy Cutter and inked it to match.  Threw on a Heidi Swapp chipboard heart (which I'm almost out of...eek!) I used the Daisy D's roll on stitches which I'm not too sure I like, but overall, love the page  :)

Next week's Journaling Junkie Challenge is to journal on your photos...my layout is the inspiration for this week's challenge...here it is.

I scanned Big Dave's phone and blew it up so I could use the screen for my journaling.  Those white Sharpies work GREAT for journaling on photos.
