Well poopers, it looks like I'm a hopeless Twilight addict afterall.
See, back in December I decided to see what all the fuss was about and read the Stephanie Meyer novel, Twilight. I ended up falling under the hypnotic spell that seems to overcome all readers of the series... So I went ahead and sunk my teeth into book 2, New Moon. However, after 800 plus pages of teenage angst mixed with some sci-fi vampire drama I decided that the books weren't my thing. I Googled the last two books in the series and satisfied myself by finding out how the story ended. Sure, it's cheating, but whatever.
Then the Twilight movie came out, and of course I took Miss Priss to see it... I was less than impressed, but it was kind of nice to put faces with the characters in the book.
No harm done... I was over it. Phew, I could get on with my life and leave the adolescent saga behind me. Right?
Oh heck no. Of course not. That would be tooooooo easy.
Because now New Moon is in theaters.
Oh lord.
So Miss Priss and I waded through the hordes on Friday so she could say she was one of the first people to see it, and I was kinda dreading it. However, after the first hour of angst, angst, and more angst (plus a lot of 'Oh Bella, I cannot imagine my life without you blah blah blah...') it got pretty good. The werewolves ROCK, as do the abs on the Quileute tribesmen. (If you're wondering what I'm talking about, I'm speaking Twilight-ese and you'll have to read the book/see the movies to understand.)
And now? Yep, now I've got bulging bloodshot eyes, a stiff neck and nothing done around here because I've just read 629 pages of Eclipse (book 3) in two days. Geez. I guess the moved piqued my interest again, and like I said, I'm hopelessly hooked.
So I'll be starting book 4, Breaking Dawn, after I get off of here. I MUST have it finished by Thanksgiving because that's the day I plan to get packed for our girls weekend in the woods. And since I already know how it ends (thanks to some good ol' Googling) I can really enjoy the ride. I hate surprises, and quite often read the ending first so I don't have to get my panties in a wad unnecessarily. See how big of a dork I am? I know.
Okay, I'm off to do some readin'.
PS ...
And just in case you're wondering, I'm team Edward. I know... he's got his flaws, but I just don't like Jacob's attitude (more so in the books than in the movies) and besides, those bad boys have always been more my style than the jock-a-lo's. In fact, if I'm being honest here... I think Rosalie's the hottest of the all haa haaaa!
M*E*O*W!!!!!
