Who's OVER this freakin' freezing ass weather???? ME!
Oh I am SO done. DONE. D~O~N~E.
Did I mention I'm done?
I am.
Done.
My flowers are brittle, brown and wind blown. The bird baths have turned into ice skating rinks for the thirsty kitties who dare leap up onto them. And Big Dave shushes us every time the 'Local on the 8's' pops up on The Weather Channel.
Needless to say, we're all cooped up inside...
I guess we're in the 'dog days' of winter. Ugh.
The wood pile that once crested over five feet in height and width is now down to its last layer. Looks like Big Dave better get to choppin'!
I've got approximately 23 days until my next 5K adventure...
The Critz Tybee 5K.
And this frigid weather is putting a bit of a damper on my 'training.' I'm still on track to reach my goal of running from start to finish (a mere 3.1 miles... I've got this right?) But dangit, somebody needs to invent some battery-operated-warming-sweatpants. NOW. Oh, and give them to me for free. NOW.
Do I sound crazy? Malcontent? A big frothy at the mouth?
IT'S BECAUSE I'VE BEEN DRIVEN COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY INSANE BY THIS WICKED WINTER WEATHER.
I will now choose to think of warm things.
Like Goldschlager.
Or my toes, brown and delicious in flip flops.
Or my sun parched skin wrinkling under the mid July sun.
The sweet tanginess of garden rip tomatoes picked right off the vine in my garden.
My fat roll delicately lopping over the top of my bikini bottoms.
Yes.
This is good.
Think warm thoughts my people. It will be over soon.
Right?
Just think back to how excited you were when the first snow flakes fell. We always want what we don't have it seems. I finally dared to go out in my car today for the first time in over a week and did very well until I was coming home. I hit ice on a bridge and started sliding and thank God no one was on either side of me. That scared me to resolve that I won't drive anymore until the snow is gone from the roads. They keep the streets scraped but ice does form in spite of that and you don't see it until it is too late. The summer will come before you know it and then it will be big a/c bills. Get a dish and gather some white snow and make ice cream.
