You have to know that we brought in the New Year in true Dhuland style once again this year. Our closest friends found their way to the firepit, where we burned stuff, ate stuff, and blew up stuff to celebrate the passing of a GREAT year and welcome the arrival of a new one.
Of course this means that we had the cameras on standby and clicked a TON of pics. I'll let them speak for themselves...
(Kristine, Mendy, Me, Sid, and Lisa.)
Why must they team up on me????? My evil friends...
Here's my twerp in all her New Year's finery...
And speaking of twerpy pals, we had plenty of 'em show up by the firepit...
And just for the record... the children are roasting yams. No, not marshmallows. Yams.
Why? The hell if I know. All I know is that they found my homegrown yams in the fridge, had some sort of yam fight in my house, then cut them up, stuck them on roasting sticks, and lit them on fire. No, they did not eat them. It was a horrible yam massacre, and I am scarred for life.
Even Shady had a good time, in fact she got a new friend... Mack from down the street came to check out the party and ended up being the last one to leave (with the exception of a friend who shall remain nameless who had his/her driving privilages revoked for the night.)
...ah, nothing like a couple of handsome hunting dogs sitting amongst a collection of discarded plastic cups and beer cans... classy.
We headed to the bridge to shoot fireworks around ten...
It was crazy foggy so all our pics look like we were in a snowstorm... weird...
We ended the evening by burning our Christmas tree... traumatizing yes. Who knew those suckers could burn so violently! Mucho excitement.
It was a great evening. I mean how could it not be? We had gun powder, liquor, huntin' dogs, pigs in a blanket, and our best friends.
I'd say it rocked!
It definitely rocked!
